Lead times at RelightDepot vary by product and by manufacturer. Many of the items we sell are made to order or stocked at manufacturer facilities around the country, so the time it takes for your order to ship depends on the specific product you ordered and where it is coming from.
Estimated Lead Times on the Product Page
For many products, we display an estimated lead time or typical order processing time directly on the product detail page, and we are continually adding this information for more items in our catalog. Look for a block just below the "Add to Cart" button in this format:
"Ships via [UPS / FedEx / LTL] within [x] business days from [State(s)]"
That tells you:
- How it will ship (parcel via UPS or FedEx, or freight via LTL)
- How many business days it typically takes the manufacturer to process and hand the order off to the carrier
- Where it ships from, so you can estimate transit time to your location
Ship Time vs. Transit Time
The lead time on the product page is the ship time: the time between order placement and when the manufacturer hands the package to the carrier. Transit time from the manufacturer's facility to your delivery address is additional and depends on the shipping method and distance.
Example: a product with a "Ships via UPS within 3 business days from California" lead time that is going to a New York address might take roughly 3 business days to ship plus 4 to 5 business days in transit, for a total of around 7 to 8 business days.
If No Lead Time Is Shown
If a product page does not yet show a lead time estimate and you need to know before ordering, email us at support@relightdepot.com or open a ticket with the product name or SKU and your required delivery date. We will check current availability with the manufacturer and get back to you.
What Happens If a Product Is on Backorder
If a product goes on backorder after you have placed your order:
- We will notify you by email as soon as we learn about the backorder
- We will provide an updated estimated ship date from the manufacturer
- You can choose to wait for the product, switch to an available alternative, or cancel that portion of your order for a full refund
On multi-item orders, in-stock items will typically ship on schedule and backordered items will follow when they become available.
Tips for Time-Sensitive Projects
- Contact us before ordering to confirm real-time availability
- For large or multi-item orders, ask about split shipments so in-stock items arrive first
- Share your deadline and we can help identify options that can meet it
- Ask about substitutes if your first choice has a long lead time
